2018 World Sight Day supporting Prevent Blindness Wisconsin
Prevent Blindness Wisconsin

About World Sight Day

World Sight day is an annual day of awareness held on Thursday, October 11, 2018, to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment. This year's call to action is Eye Care Everywhere.

Prevent Blindness Wisconsin is taking the World Sight Day challenge to raise awareness for eye care throughout Wisconsin and needs your help!

You can help provide healthy vision for school success and a lifetime by:

  • running a t-shirt campaign at your school, community group, church, or workplace (a great opportunity for a jeans day)
  • sharing your photos and your World Sight Day apparel by using the tag #SaveSightWI to share your photos in your World Sight Day apparel and raise awareness for vision health
  • making a donation
  • raising an awareness for healthy vision by sharing this page with your friends on social media

Together We Bring Futures Into Focus!

Although 1 in 4 school-aged children and 1 in 20 preschool-aged children have a vision problem, 86% of children never receive an eye exam before entering school. Prevent Blindness Wisconsin's free Certified Vision Screenings are a critical first step in ensuring children are on the path to healthy vision for a lifetime.

Thank you for supporting our vision for each Wisconsin resident to have healthy vision for a lifetime!
